| Reverse description | The reverse presents a circular central cartouche enclosing the mint and date legend in Nasta'liq script, set against a broad, slightly granular hammered field. Within the cartouche, the legend reads 'Zarb Dar al-Saltana Isfahan' (Struck at the Seat of the Sultanate, Isfahan), with the AH date 1158 inscribed beneath in Eastern Arabic numerals. The cartouche is defined by a raised ring border, and the surrounding flat field shows the characteristic irregular planched surface of hand-struck Afsharid gold coinage. Small pellet ornaments appear within the cartouche, consistent with the decorative vocabulary of the Type D series. |
