Reverse description The reverse presents the Shi'a kalima in bold nasta'liq calligraphy arranged in three horizontal registers within a slightly oval central cartouche, all set against a plain gold field. The legend reads the shahada followed by the declaration of Ali as the friend of God, a standard Safavid Twelver Shi'a formula used consistently across the dynasty's coinage. A beaded border runs along the coin's circumference, with a secondary plain inner border framing the calligraphic panel. The script is deeply and confidently struck, with well-defined letter forms characteristic of the Isfahan mint's late Safavid production. The overall design is aniconic, relying solely on the spiritual authority conveyed by the religious text.
