| Opis rewersu | The reverse field displays a four-line Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers separated by ruled lines. The upper portion contains the continuation of the Quranic verse (Surah 9:35), the middle registers state the mint name Tetuan (تطوان) and the Arabic word for striking (ضرب), and the lowest line gives the AH date 1195, corresponding to 1781 AD. The script is a bold Maghrebi cursive, typical of Alaoui dynasty hammered silver issues. The border is formed by a continuous granulated pellet rim, identical to the obverse. |
