| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Arabic religious inscription, each line separated by horizontal ruled bars. The legend reads a partial Quranic verse (Surah 9:34) warning against the hoarding of gold and silver. The text is rendered in a bold, somewhat rustic Maghrebi script characteristic of Sharifian hammered coinage. The coin's circular border is defined by a repeating granulated or pellet rim. No effigy or central device is present, consistent with Islamic aniconic tradition. |
