| 背面描述 | A long cross pattée extends to the edges of the flan, dividing the reverse field into four quarters. At the center of the cross, a small escutcheon bearing the arms of Leuven (Louvain) is placed at the crossing point. The cross arms are broad and flat, consistent with the pattée form characteristic of Low Countries mite coinage of the mid-fifteenth century. A partial circular legend in uncial Latin script is disposed around the periphery, partially visible given the irregular flan. |

Joan of Merwede ruled the tiny lordships of Gerdingen and Stein in the mid-fifteenth century as one of the relatively few female lords in the Low Countries to exercise independent minting rights. The vdCh reference trailing an em-dash signals this type remains incompletely catalogued — known to van der Chijs but not fully classified, which places it in that uncomfortable zone where attribution is confident but die documentation is not.
