| Beschrijving voorzijde | A cross potent set upon three steps, with a small globe beneath the lowest step, occupies the central field. The terminal ends of the cross are surmounted by globules, lending the design its characteristic potent form. A circular legend in Greek characters encircles the central device, reading the invocatory inscription 'IHSUS XRISTUS NICA' (Jesus Christ conquers). The entire composition is enclosed within a double border of beaded circles, consistent with standard Byzantine miliaresion typology. |
