| Beschrijving keerzijde | Three helmeted and armoured soldiers standing facing, the central figure slightly taller and more prominently rendered, each holding a long spear or standard in the outer hand; the two flanking soldiers carry shields at their sides. The group is framed beneath an arch or architectural canopy, conveying an imperial ceremonial scene symbolic of military felicity. The circumferential legend FELICITAS ROMANORVM, meaning 'the good fortune of the Romans,' encircles the composition. The mintmark SMN appears in the exergue, denoting the Nicomedia mint. A suspension hole is pierced through the top of the flan above the arch, consistent with the obverse. |
