Obverse description Central field bears the monogram of Perpignan, composed of two interlocked letters P with the letter A surmounting them; two annulets flank the sides of the A. The design is enclosed within a circular legend. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval hammered coinage of the County of Roussillon.

Reverse description Full-length figure of Saint John the Baptist standing facing in the field, rendered in the simplified relief typical of small hammered copper coinage of early 17th-century Catalonia. The saint is depicted in his traditional iconographic role as patron of Perpignan. The date 16-11 is divided by the central figure and appears within the circumferential legend.
