Obverse description The obverse features three enameled heraldic shields in relief arranged across the field: at center top, the arms of Menton with a winged figure (Saint Michael) on a blue ground surmounted by a mural crown and inscribed DEFENSOR MENTONI; at lower left, a blue-enameled shield bearing a cross and lion with a royal crown; at lower right, a red-and-white checkered shield surmounted by a crown inscribed VENTO SUPER VENTORVM PENNAS. The engraver's signature J.M FERRARO appears in the lower field.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed relief view of the Monastère de l'Annonciade set in a landscape with trees and terrain.
