| Reverse description | Standing figure of Athena facing left in three-quarter view, semi-draped, the himation gathered around the lower body and left arm. She holds a thunderbolt in her extended right hand and rests her left hand upon a tall spear or sceptre set vertically beside her; an oblong shield rests at her feet to the lower left. The Greek legend flanks the central figure on both sides within the field, reading ΣΥΝΝΑΔΕΩΝ to the right and ΜΕΝΕΣΤΡΑΤΟΣ to the left, identifying the city of Synnada and the magistrate Menestratos. |
