Obverse lettering On October 13th, 1874 the long trek west of the newly formed N.W.M.P. ended here at Fort Macleod. The first N.W.M.P. Fort was built and the peaceful and orderly settlement of the Canadian West began.
Reverse description The central design features a bold three-dimensional numeral '100' in blocky relief, with a First Nations feathered headdress emerging from behind the digits and an NWMP campaign hat placed in the lower left foreground. The legend 'FORT MACLEOD' arcs along the upper periphery and the dates '1874-1974' appear along the lower periphery, all within a reeded border.
