Reverse description The arms of Preston displayed centrally, featuring the Paschal Lamb with banner and rays of glory, flanked by elaborate scrollwork supporters and surmounted by a ribbon bearing the town name. The initials P.P. appear below the shield. A circular legend naming the Mayor arches across the upper field, with GUILD MERCHANT and the date SEPTEMBER 1882 inscribed in the lower field.
