Obverse description Laureate bust of George III facing right, with curled wig and ribbon, in high relief. The monogram 'G' appears to the left of the effigy and 'IIII' to the right, with the date 1788 below and a small engraver's mark 'C.I' at the bust truncation. The circumferential legend reads GOD SAVE THE KING.
