Obverse description A highly detailed, finely engraved portrait of a wolf's head facing three-quarters left dominates the central field, rendered with elaborate fur texture suggesting a mature animal. Two additional wolf heads are partially visible emerging from behind the central figure, their ears and eyes appearing at the upper left and upper right of the composition. A row of six-pointed stars borders the inner field, separated from the legend by a rope-twist inner circle. The legend E • PLURIBUS • UNUM arcs along the upper periphery in Latin capitals, and the date 1921 appears in the lower exergual area flanked by stars. The entire design is enclosed within a raised beaded border.

Reverse description A spread-winged American eagle is displayed prominently in the central field, rendered in a style reminiscent of the Morgan dollar reverse type. Olive branch and arrows are held in the eagle's talons, with a laurel wreath framing the central device. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA curves along the upper periphery, while ONE DOLLAR appears in the lower field. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed within the design, and the outermost border features a raised beaded rim.
