Obverse description Central field features a raised relief reproduction of a medieval bracteate of Casimir II the Just, depicting a crowned frontal bust with surrounding legend in archaic script. Above the bracteate, the Latin legend CAZIMIRVS II is inscribed in the upper field, and below, the Roman numeral dates MCLXXVII and MCXCIIII denote the prince's reign (1177–1194). The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
