Reverse description Two full-length standing figures face each other in the central field: William Penn, dressed in a wide-brimmed hat and long coat and holding a cane, clasps hands with a semi-nude Native American chief wearing a feathered headdress and holding a bow. A circular legend surrounds the scene, and a recessed exergue below contains a three-line inscription recording the settlement of Pennsylvania in 1681.
