| Obverse description | Satirical scene in high relief depicting John Bull, dressed as a stout figure in a hat, kicking a crouching Tory laden with inscribed sacks labelled TAXES, MALT, and CORN, while shaking hands with an elegantly dressed Whig who holds scales of justice.
