Obverse description A kneeling enslaved man in relief, facing right with chained wrists raised in supplication, chains also visible at his ankles. The figure occupies the central field, with the engraver's signature 'DAVIS' and 'BIRM' appearing below. An exergual panel at the base bears a three-line inscription, and the abolitionist legend curves around the upper periphery. A suspension hole is pierced at the top rim.
