Obverse description Replica of the obverse of the bronze third-place award medal from the 1878 Paris Exposition Universelle Internationale, engraved by Chaplain. The design features a winged allegorical female figure in high relief, holding a laurel wreath and a palm frond, accompanied by a putto below, with a cityscape in the exergue. A tablet inscribed 'VIN VILLA' is prominently displayed in the central field. The encircling legend and engraver's signature 'CHAPLAIN' appear along the lower rim.
