Obverse description A draped female figure in high relief stands in mourning, her head bowed and hand raised to her face, representing Canada weeping for her fallen. To either side, rectangular panels bear the inscriptions CANADA and FRANCE in raised letters, with sculptor and modeller credits below. The date 26-VII-1936 appears in the upper field, and VIMY is inscribed along the base in bold relief lettering.
