| Obverse description | William of Wykeham depicted in high relief, standing in full episcopal vestments including mitre and holding a crozier, positioned centrally above a stepped dais and flanked on either side by groups of seated and standing pupils or scholars in period dress. A commemorative legend is inscribed across the field, and the border carries the motto and dates 1393 and 1893. The engraver's signature 'G. FRAMPTON SC.' appears in the lower field. |
