Reverse description A detailed allegorical scene depicting Prince Albert seated on a raised dais beneath a canopied backdrop, receiving a procession of dignitaries and townspeople extending to the right. The Liverpool civic coat of arms appears in an ornamental cartouche at the top centre, flanked by decorative swags. The date inscription LIVERPOOL JULY 30.1846 is inscribed to the right of the cartouche. The engraver's signature J. DAVIS DIR. appears in the lower exergue area.
