Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Grand Duke Constantine Nikolaevich in right profile, depicted in military uniform with epaulettes and buttoned collar. The Cyrillic legend arcs around the upper field, and the maker's inscription 'G.R. COLLIS & CO. 6 LANGHAM PLACE LONDON' is incused in small lettering along the lower rim.

Reverse description The entire reverse field is occupied by a multi-line commemorative inscription in raised Latin lettering, naming the occasion as Grand Duke Constantine's visit to Birmingham on Thursday 1 July 1847, struck at the works of G.R. Collis & Co., and listing the full party of distinguished British and Russian dignitaries who accompanied him. No imagery or decorative border is present.
