Obverse description Diademed bust of Queen Victoria facing three-quarters left, set within a circular medallion inscribed around its inner border, the whole flanked by Masonic square and compasses in high relief. The legend arcs around the outer border, with the motto GOD SAVE THE QUEEN on a ribbon across the upper field. Maker's signature JENNINGS LONDON appears in the lower exergue.

Reverse description Two heraldic shields side by side at centre, the left surmounted by a crown and bearing a rampant lion, the right surmounted by an eagle, each with a motto ribbon below reading ESSAYEZ and NYMEZ LOYALTE respectively. A large five-pointed star radiates behind the shields, with a Tudor rose in bloom at the base. The circular legend arcs around the entire border.
