The dates 1837 and 1887 appear on either side within the wreath, with LAUNCESTON TASMANIA arched above. Below the arms, an inscription in the field reads ALEXANDRINA VICTORIA / BORN 1819 / CROWNED 1838 / PROC·D EMPRESS OF INDIA 1877. A suspension hole is pierced at the top.
