Obverse description Central shield of arms flanked by two standing allegorical figures: a male figure of Industry at left holding a hammer, and a female figure of Art at right beside a decorative urn. Above the shield, a helmeted bust in relief is framed by maple leaf branches. Below the shield, a ribbon banner bears the Latin motto MEDITANDO / ET VARIASUSUS EXTUNDERET / ARTES. The circular legend around the border reads in both English and French.
