Obverse description Full-length figure of Sir Francis Drake standing in period costume, his left hand resting on a terrestrial globe mounted on a decorative stand, with a sword at his side. The circumferential legend reads around the inner border, with the sculptor's signature J. E. BOEHM. SC. inscribed on a tablet in the lower exergue.
