| Reverse description | Central design features a Samoan taupou (ceremonial village maiden) seated facing front within an ornate arched frame, a kava bowl before her. Two chiefly figures in traditional attire flank the arch, the left figure with an outstretched arm and the right holding a staff. Three five-pointed stars are arranged along the upper field, representing the Manuʻa Islands. A decorative scroll inscribed 'the Eastern Navigator Islands 1872' occupies the lower central field. The legend 'MANU'A-TELE' arcs along the left rim and 'CENTENNIAL' along the right rim, with the centennial dates '1904 – 2004' in the exergue. |
