Reverse description Samoan taupou (ceremonial village maiden) seated front-facing in traditional dress with kava bowl in front, beneath an ornate arched frame. Flanked by two chiefly figures in customary attire, the figure to the right holding a staff. Three five-pointed stars above representing the islands of Taʻū, Ofu, and Olosega, which make up the Manuʻa Islands. Scroll inscribed “The Eastern Navigator Islands 1872” below. Dates “1904 – 2004” at the bottom.
