| Obverse description | The imperial throne (takamikura) depicted in high relief at center, with the gilt chrysanthemum crest (kiku mon) superimposed in the throne's central aperture. Cloud patterns flank the throne in the field, while a wreath of cherry blossoms and citrus blossoms frames the entire design along the border. The legend 萬歲 appears in the lower field below the throne. |

| Reverse description | A flag- or tablet-shaped cartouche in relief at center bears the vertical inscription 大禮記念章 and is flanked on either side by stylized cloud and dragon motifs in the field.
