Reverse description The reverse displays the bold legend NEW HAMPSHIRE and ATTAINED STATEHOOD / JUNE 21, 1788 in the central field, flanked by an open laurel wreath. At the base of the wreath, a ribbon cartouche bears the inscription 9TH STATE. At the top of the field, a circular medallion depicts the state flower, the Purple Lilac, surrounded by stars and the legend NEW HAMPSHIRE / PURPLE LILAC. The Franklin Mint mintmark FM appears at the bottom of the field.
