Reverse description The reverse displays a circular medallion at top containing a depiction of the Mayflower flower (state flower) surrounded by stars and the legends MASSACHUSETTS and MAYFLOWER. Below, the legend MASSACHUSETTS appears prominently across the field, with ATTAINED STATEHOOD / FEBRUARY 6, 1788 beneath, all within a wreath of laurel branches. A scroll at the base bears the legend 6TH STATE, with the Franklin Mint mintmark below.
