Obverse description A detailed relief view of the Saint Petersburg Mint building complex with smoking chimneys, rendered in fine engraved style occupying the central field. The legend С.ПЕТЕРБУРГСКIЙ МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОРЪ arches along the upper rim, while the lower field bears a three-line inscription recording the mint's founding by Emperor Peter I in 1724. A small maker's attribution line appears below the architectural view in the exergue.
