| Obverse description | The central field depicts the medieval seal of São Vicente da Beira in high relief: a fortified castle with battlements flanked by two birds, a mounted horseman in the gateway, and a vessel with ornate prow and stern beneath. A six-pointed star appears to the upper left and a crescent moon to the upper right of the castle. The surrounding legend in Latin is separated by dots and a floral ornament, bordered by a rope-and-leaf decorative rim. |
