Reverse description A winged angel stands facing, wings spread wide, holding a ribbon banner inscribed with the date 23 JANUARY 1874. To either side, large crowned heraldic shields — the British Royal Arms to the left and the Imperial Russian Arms to the right — are flanked by elaborate scrollwork and foliage. The engraver's signature CHR. SCHNITZSPAHN IN DARMSTADT FEC. appears along the lower rim.
