The surrounding border is decorated with traditional Latvian folk ornamental motifs. The legend 'RIGA' appears in red-colored letters at the top and 'LATVIJA' at the bottom.

Mô tả mặt sau	Central field bears the coat of arms of Latvia in high relief, depicting a quartered shield with a rising sun in the upper half and two lions passant in the lower quarters, supported by a lion rampant on the left and a griffin on the right, with three five-pointed stars above the shield. The border is decorated with the same traditional Latvian folk ornamental motifs as the obverse. No legend is present.
