Reverse description Three overlapping official government gazette scrolls (官報 号外) displayed in high relief, bearing dense inscriptions relating to the Ministry of Finance ordinance lifting the gold embargo, dated Showa 4 (1929). At the lower center of the field stands a crowing cockerel in profile, symbolizing the dawn of the new economic policy. An inscription at the lower edge identifies the Osaka Mint as the manufacturer.
