Obverse description The obverse features a three-quarter-length effigy of Patriarch Nikon in full patriarchal vestments, wearing a mitre and holding a pastoral staff in his right hand and an open scroll with Cyrillic text in his left. Behind him, to the left, is a detailed relief depiction of the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery. A decorative ribbon bearing the Cyrillic legend arcs across the upper field.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a stylized sailing vessel in the center of the field, its sails rendered in the form of the numeral 1000 to commemorate the millennial anniversary. An eight-pointed star appears at the top of the field. Below the ship, a ribbon bears the word ЛЕТ, flanked by two laurel branches, with the mint mark visible to the right. A circular Cyrillic legend runs along the outer border.
