Obverse description
Depicted is a trial ruble from 1980 dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo. A rare commemorative coin of the USSR that was not released into mass circulation. It was created in honor of the victory of Russian troops under the command of Dmitry Donskoy over the Golden Horde army in 1380, which became a symbol of the strengthening of the Moscow Principality.
