Obverse description Large high-relief effigy of Poseidon facing slightly right, depicting a mature bearded male figure with elaborately rendered wavy hair and full beard, after the famous bronze sculpture known as the Artemision Bronze (c. 460–450 BC) housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. The portrait fills nearly the entire field, with fine detailing on the facial features and hair.
