Obverse description A detailed relief view of the Colosseum in Rome occupies the lower field, while above it, Saint Leonard of Port Maurice is depicted in glory, seated on clouds, holding a cross-staff and flanked by billowing drapery. The engraver's signature 'B. ZACCAGNINI FECIT' appears in the exergue area at the base of the central device, with the circumferential Latin legend and the Roman numeral date M·DCCC·LI around the border.

Reverse description The central field displays a radiated cross flanked by two flaming sacred hearts: the left bearing the IHS Christogram and the right bearing the Marian monogram MA.
