Depiction of Calungsod`s martyrdom on April 2, 1672. Depicting the scene where Calungsod protects the Spanish priest, Diego Luis San Vitores from the attackers. The local Chamorro Chiefs, Matapang and Hurao attacked Calungsod and San Vitores with their bamboo spears and killed the two missionaries. They were considered martyrs of the Catholic Church. |
