Obverse description Allegorical scene in high relief depicting the figure of Peace, winged and seated to the left, holding a dove and accompanied by a cherub bearing an olive branch; opposite her, a kneeling male warrior figure facing left offers a sword in submission, with a shield resting across his legs. A radiant sun bursts through clouds in the upper field, and a scroll supported by doves appears in the lower field. The legend PEACE appears on a scroll at the bottom of the design.
