Obverse description In Art Deco style, a draped female figure standing facing right atop the prow of a ship, holding a long staff in her left hand and raising an oil lamp aloft in her right hand, her robes billowing in the wind with a furled sail in the background. The motto of the City of Paris appears in relief in the right field. The engraver's signature is inscribed along the lower rim.

Reverse description A central raised circular medallion bearing the legend PARIS is flanked by two fasces with axes set back-to-back, their handles bound together above and below the central disc, with a fleur-de-lis in relief on each side of the field. The central disc is left plain, intended for personalised engraving.
