Obverse description Three-quarter length effigies in relief of Queen Wilhelmina facing slightly right holding the infant Princess Juliana, flanked to the left by Prince Henry in military uniform; to the right, a standing allegorical female figure (the Dutch Virgin) in classical attire and helmet, holding a palm branch extending over the royal group. Below, the coat of arms of Amsterdam is depicted centrally, with the legend 'AMSTERDAM' divided on either side.

Reverse description An orange tree in full leaf and fruit dominates the upper field, its trunk extending to the lower portion of the reverse where two heraldic shields — the coats of arms of Holland and Mecklenburg — are displayed side by side beneath a royal crown. A multi-line commemorative inscription in Dutch is arranged in two columns on either side of the tree trunk, recording the birth of Princess Juliana and her first visit to Amsterdam.
