Obverse description The state yacht S.S. ROTTERDAM to the left, in front of it a steam launch (pinnace) to the left. Below, the crowned Dutch coat of arms (upright lion) held by two mermaids. Above, the crowned Prussian imperial eagle with heraldic shield, to the left of which are the decorated coats of arms of Copenhagen and Rotterdam, and to the right, the coats of arms of Kiel and Heligoland.
