Obverse description Two facing busts in separate ornate oval frames — the Duke of Edinburgh to the left and the Grand Duchess Marie to the right — with a standing winged figure (angel or Victory) between them above, all set within an elaborate decorative surround. Individual legends arc around each portrait frame, while a central scroll in the lower field bears the motto in relief. The maker's name appears in small lettering at the lower rim.
