Obverse description Right-facing bust of Charles Lindbergh in aviator flight helmet and gear in high relief, occupying the central field. The legend LINDBERGH appears at the top, flanked by MEDAL OF THE CONGRESS on either side of the effigy, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA along the lower arc. The sculptor's signature LAURA GARDIN FRASER SCULPTOR and the authorizing inscription ACT MAY 4 1928 appear in small lettering at the base of the bust.
