Obverse description In high relief, the Soviet nuclear-powered icebreaker 'Lenin' is depicted breaking through Arctic ice, with stylized Aurora Borealis rays in the upper field. In the lower left, a medallion portrait of Lenin within a laurel wreath. The legend in the lower field names the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute with the founding and anniversary dates, flanked by the engraver's signature and mint mark.
