Obverse description Central field features a detailed relief depiction of the main building of the Lensoviet Leningrad Institute of Technology in three-quarter perspective. The founding and commemorative dates 1828 and 1978 appear in the upper field flanking the building. In the lower left, a Soviet emblem is shown, with a five-line Cyrillic legend to its right naming the institution. The engraver's signature Н.А. СОЛОВЕЙ is incuse in the lower right field.
